Open Office 3.0 just cam out and the debate is already about how long microsoft windows will stand against this growing piece of software. The Open source is not far anymore from a 100 % compatibility with windows office, just a question of time …

For those using Google doc, you may have been upset with the very low compatibility of exell or words, not worth saving any document this way especially concerning Macros in exell. Open Office 3 is far ahead in this domain , and if you just want compare prices … leader with no contest.

 

• Writter is everything you would expect from a word application , no more , no less
• Calc is fully compatible with exell
• Base manage with great efficiency
• Impress is pushing way far Microsoft powerpoint presentation
• Draw is a nice adding for manipulate and transform object

 

How much would you pay for this ? 80 $ ? It’s worth it , but as the name says, open source means free !

 

Ok, Microsoft is working hard on adding new features in the office suite, but who is using 30 % of it ? Who really needs this all bunch of addings ?

 

I believe that less then 30 % of us might be happy enought with the open office suite, and if this open source is now growing in popularity, by the time the Open Office 4.0 is coming out, that should take the lead of the office tools and utilities software contest concerning private users.

 

Another year, another edition … yes , open Office 4 will attack Microsoft Office Supremacy !
